A 16-year-old driver was ticketed after rear-ending a Villager’s vehicle Wednesday night on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.
Kelly Karlie of Ocklawaha had been behind the wheel of a 2005 Jeep Cherokee which had been northbound at 6 p.m. on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 Village when her vehicle rear-ended a 2002 Hyundai Elantra driven by 67-year-old Nanette Morris of the Village of Rio Ranchero, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Morris’ vehicle had been stopped at a redlight, the accident report indicated.
Lake EMS responded to the scene and while Morris complained of neck pain, she declined transport to a hospital.
Karlie was ticketed on a charge of careless driving.
