17-year-old dies following early morning single-vehicle accident in Marion County

A 17-year-old from Leesburg has died as the result of an early morning single-vehicle accident in Marion County.

Kurtis Colebrooks had been at the wheel of a 2005 Dodge Neon at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday on County Road 314 when his vehicle left the roadway and collided with a fence and then a tree, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

He was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m. Thursday at ORMC.
