17-year-old in stable condition after being shot at park in Ocala

Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning at Ralph Russell Memorial Park located at 1690 Pine Road in Ocala.

A 17-year-old male victim told detectives that he was sitting in his car at the location when suspects pulled him out of his vehicle and shot him. The victim said he then ran away and began calling out for help. Several people nearby heard the victim yelling for help and called 911.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is receiving treatment for his injuries. He is currently in stable condition.
