Villager Linda Sojourn was stunned at 4 a.m. Saturday when she discovered a 20-foot deep sinkhole in her front yard.

She immediately called 911 after making the discovery at her home at 1628 Cypress Point in the Village of Country Club Hills.

She said it might not be a “big issue,” but would be a “big pocket issue.”

She moved to the home this past September. She had previously lived nearby Coghill Drive.

It has been a busy sinkhole season in The Villages. Several sinkholes opened up at Glenview Champions Golf Course. A Village of Liberty Park woman had a sinkhole open earlier this month near her front door.

Yellow police tape is blocking access to the sinkhole.
