A 20-year-old who admitted he had “weed in my backpack” was arrested at about 9 p.m. Monday on County Road 466 in The Villages.

His vehicle was pulled over on CR466 at Glen Hollow Way due to an inoperable taglight, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan Thomas Jones of Leesburg admitted to the deputy that he had smoked marijuana earlier that day. When asked if there were any drugs in the car, Jones said, “Yes sir, I have weed in my backpack,” the arrest report indicated.

Jones was booked on a charge marijuana possession at the Sumter County Detention Center. He posted $1,000 bond and was released.
