A woman is free on $2,000 bond after she allegedly attempted to steal two FitBit devices from Target at Rolling Acres Shopping Plaza.
Elizabeth A. Allen, 23, who lives in The Quarters Apartments in Lady Lake, entered the store at 4 p.m. Monday, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. In the electronics department, she allegedly took two FitBit Blaze devices, removed them from their packaging and put them in her purse, the arrest report indicated.
FitBit devices, which can track your number of steps per day and heart rate, are the rage among exercise enthusiasts.
Allen then purchased diapers and attempted to leave the store. She was stopped by a Target loss prevention officer.
The combined value of the two devices was $399.
She was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of retail grand theft.
