Man arrested after allegedly selling drugs out of golf cart at Lowe’s parking lot

A 47-year-old Summerfield man who was allegedly selling drugs out of his golf cart in the parking lot at Lowe’s has been arrested.

David J. Kotowski was arrested shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of Publix at Spanish Plaines in The Villages. He is facing felony charges of selling and possessing methamphetamine.

Kotowski sold methamphetamine on March 20 and 21 to a confidential informant working with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Squad.

A Florida Department of Law Enforcement laboratory analysis dated April 6 confirmed that the substance that had been sold was methamphetamine.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $20,000.
