A Villager will have to answer in court after allegedly punching a man at Orange Blossom Hills Country Club.

Jeffrey James Taylor, 53, of the Village of De La Vista, was reportedly intoxicated when he was confronted by an employee over an unpaid bar tab, according to a report from the Lady Lake Police Department. Taylor paid his tab and was reminded by the employee to take his phone and lighter with him. Then Taylor used profane language and punched the man in the mouth and jaw, the report indicated. Taylor was then escorted from the building and left in a silver Mercedes.

A Lady Lake police officer went to Taylor’s home on Aldama Avenue and issued him a notice to appear Nov. 1 in Lake County Court to answer to a charge of battery.
