A Lady Lake couple traveling with a 1-year-old baby was found to be in possession of drugs after a traffic stop Sunday night in The Villages.
Alexandrea Marie Runyon, 19, had been at the wheel of a Toyota SUV with inoperable taglights shortly after 9 p.m. that had been traveling southbound on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 at Bella Cruz Drive, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
When the deputy approached the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was detected. Runyon admitted that she and a passenger, 25-year-old Dylan Wayne Stokes, had been smoking marijuana.
A pipe was found under a floorboard. A silver container with marijuana and seven Lorazepam pills were found in her purse.
A second pipe was discovered in the vehicle’s center console along with a container which held additional Lorazepam tablets.
Both were taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
Runyon was also issued a written warning for the inoperable taglights.
