Woman who drank at City Fire arrested after crash in roundabout in The Villages

Emily Roversi

A woman who said she had been drinking at City Fire was arrested after a crash in a roundabout in The Villages.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies responded at 12:38 a.m. Saturday to the crash at the roundabout at Morse Boulevard and Stillwater Trail.

A black Chevy Cruze with Illinois license plates was found with “significant damage” to the front driver’s side wheel. The driver was identified as 23-year-old Emily Josephine Roversi. The Chicago native told police she had just left City Fire “where she only had two drinks,” according to an arrest report. She admitted to deputies she should not have been driving.

There was at least $500 in damage to flowers and the sprinkler system in the roundabout. Her vehicle’s hubcap was found in the roundabout.

Roversi failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .163 and .159 blood alcohol content. She was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence with property damage and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $1,500 bond.

A Village of Hemingway woman was arrested earlier this month after cutting off a deputy in the same roundabout. She had been drinking at the Lighthouse Point Bar & Grille at Lake Sumter Landing.

A man crashed last year in the same roundabout and was arrested on a charge of DUI. He also had been drinking at City Fire.
