79-year-old Fruitland Park man struck and killed on Interstate 75

A 79-year-old Fruitland Park man was struck and killed early Friday morning on Interstate 75 in Columbia County.

David Boose was in the roadway at 12 a.m. in the southbound lane when he was struck and killed by a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by 22-year-old Abigail Carroll of Clinton, N.J., according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Bose was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carroll and a passenger, 23-year-old Trevor Schrier, of New York City, escaped injury.
