National touring star Crystal Gage will be performing a concert to benefit The Villages Homeowners Advocates’ (VHA) Helping Hands program on Tuesday, Feb. 19.
Crystal Gage has opened for artists such as Big & Rich and Gretchen Wilson. She gained national recognition when she won Country Music Television’s Karoke Star and took home the $10,000 grand prize, which she used to produce her album, “Dust to Diamonds.”
Her shows at the VHA Country Western Hoedown the past two years also have been a big hit with Villagers.
Proceeds from the concert will support the growing needs of the VHA’s Helping Hands Medical Equipment Loan Program. Substantial funding is needed to meet the growing needs of Villagers.
Helping Hands, a neighbors helping neighbors program, is a community service program assisting Villages families each year by providing purchased and donated durable medical equipment free of charge. A variety of equipment is available, including wheelchairs, walkers and shower chairs.
The need for this equipment is growing. Three years ago, Helping Hands provided equipment to 500 participants. In 2018, more than 4,700 people received assistance from Helping Hands.
The show, which will be held at La Hacienda Recreation Center, begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 (cash or check only) and are available at the VHA office at 1104 Main Street in Spanish Springs Town Square weekdays from 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Tickets also can also be purchased by calling Joan Testa at (352) 430-2110.
