Items stolen from Villager’s golf cart during trip to grocery store

An iPhone and garage door opener were among items stolen from a Villager’s golf cart when he made a trip to a grocery store.

The 80-year-old resident of Villa De Laguna drove his brown golf cart Monday afternoon to the Winn-Dixie supermarket on Bichara Boulevard, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department. When he returned to the golf cart, he discovered his iPhone 3, garage door opener and white Villages gate key card had been removed from a cupholder.
