Villager goes to police about leaky roof after work by contractor with shady past

David Hall

A Villager went to see the police about a leaky roof after work was performed at his home by a contractor with a shady past.

The 82-year-old Village of Silver Lake resident said that he had noticed 48-year-old David Hall doing some work for his neighbors. He asked Hall to do $500 in repairs to his roof. A few days later, the Villager noticed that his roof was still leaking and it had not been fixed properly, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The Villager started doing some research and learned that Hall has a history of ripping off residents.

Hall had been arrested in 2017 on warrants charging him with exploitation of the elderly following work he performed in the Village of Silver Lake in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma.

Hall found himself back behind bars on Wednesday after he was arrested for violating his probation. He was was being held without bond at the Lake County Jail.
