Villager arrested on trespassing charge at swimming pool

David Kimmel

A Villager was arrested on a trespassing charge at a swimming pool in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.

David Kimmel, 61, who lives on Lauren Lane on the Historic Side of The Villages, was taken into custody after he was spotted at the pool at Orange Blossom Hills Country Club.

Lady Lake police responded to the scene at 12:17 p.m. Friday after a manager called to report that Kimmel had returned to the pool from which he had been told on May 18 to stay away, according to an arrest report.

Kimmel, who was identified by his Maryland identification card, claimed he had received no paperwork and he believed it had to be issued by a judge. Police explained that is not how the process works.

He was taken into custody and booked at the Lake County Jail.

He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
