Michaeleen “Mickey” Toto

Michaeleen Toto

Michaeleen “Mickey” (Bologna) Toto, 71, of The Villages, FL, passed away peacefully on June 8th, 2019 surrounded by family and love after a hard-fought battle with repeat brain hemorrhages. Mickey was born in Detroit, MI to (late) Sam and (late) Estelle Bologna. She attended Grosse Pointe South High School and graduated with the class of 1965. While living in Michigan, she worked at her father’s insurance company.

Mickey met her husband, Damian, of 47 years on a blind date in 1970. Together they raised three children Steven, Joseph and Ann (Shannon) Toto. Joseph blessed Mickey with her beloved granddaughter Bella. Mickey also formed strong friendships with her step-granddaughters Caroline and Emmie Kennedy.

Mickey was known for her firecracker personality and random acts of kindness often involving delicious baked goods. Mickey was an avid baker and worked magic in the kitchen. Throughout her life she always found ways to give back to the community by partaking in Operation Shoebox and writing personal letters to our military, providing Thanksgiving Dinners to those less fortunate, fundraising and shopping for Christmas angel children. During her retired years she kept busy as a companion for Comfort Keepers, an usher for St. Timothy’s Catholic Church and by organizing neighborhood socials. Mickey also loved to travel, read and care for her family and pets.

Mickey was predeceased by her siblings Katherine Trzcinski, Joseph Bologna and Gloria Kuszynski. She is survived by her husband Damian, children Steven, Joseph and Ann, granddaughter Bella, and sister Denise Brideau. Memorial service will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in Lady Lake, FL, Saturday June 15, 2019 at 10 am with a reception to follow. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the American Cancer Society to honor those Mickey loved and lost.
