21-year-old Clermont man killed in Lake County accident

A 21-year-old Clermont man was killed in an accident at 2 a.m. Saturday in Lake County.

Markie Conley was a passenger in a car driven by 21-year-old Stanley Evans of Groveland.

Evans’ Nissan Altima was traveling northbound on Lee Road approaching the intersection of State 50 when the accident occurred, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

The car left the roadway entered a private drive and struck a palm tree and then a large oak tree, the report indicated.

Evans suffered serious injuries and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. A passenger, 20-year-old Tevin Hart of Groveland, suffered serious injuries and was also transported to ORMC. Another passenger, 20-year-old Earl Graham of Groveland, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Southlake Hospital.

Conley was pronounced dead by the medical examiner.

This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending, the FHP report noted.
