21-year-old man dies of gunshot wounds suffered during ‘rave party’ in Mount Dora

A 21-year-old Orlando man has died of gunshot wounds suffered early Saturday morning during a “rave party” in Mount Dora.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls at about 2:30 a.m. regarding a possible shooting in the area of the 2000 block of Sheridan Road in the unincorporated portion of Mount Dora.

One man was found dead in car. A second gunshot victim was located nearby and transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery.

It was estimated that the rave party was attended by up to 500-1,000 people who were mostly bused in from areas outside Lake County such as Orlando and Orange County, according to the sheriff’s office. The vehicle the dead man was found in was reported stolen from the Tampa area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimeline or the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
