A 21-year-old Ocala man was killed in an accident at 8:12 p.m. Friday on County Road 42 at SE 207 Court in Weirsdale.
Braxton Alan Reed was traveling eastbound on CR 42 when Deanna Katherine Hickey, 23, of Fort Myers, crossed the solid double painted dividing line and her vehicle collided with the front of Reed’s vehicle, according to a report from Florida Highway Patrol.
Reed was pronounced dead on the scene by Marion County Fire Rescue.
A passenger in his vehicle, Amber Grace Puckett, 22, of Umatilla, suffered serious injuries and was taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center. Another passenger in the vehicle, 46-year-old Jeffrey Allen Bowman of Lady Lake, suffered critical injuries and was taken Ocala Regional Medical Center as well.
Hickey and a passenger in her car, 25-year-old Sean Michael Healy of Lehigh Acres, also suffered serious injuries and were taken to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The FHP report noted that Hickey, Healy and Bowman were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident.
