A 21-year-old woman was arrested after allegedly taking her mother’s car without permission.

Hope Dunbar was arrested Thursday night by Fruitland Park police after she took her mother’s 2004 Hyundai Sonata, according to an arrest report. The mother called Dunbar and demanded that her daughter bring back the vehicle. She did not return the vehicle.

When police tried to take Dunbar into custody, she tried to pull away and an officer had to pin her against a squad car in order to get her to “calm down,” the report indicated.

She was arrested on charges of grand theft auto and resisting arrest. She was booked at the Lake County Jail on $3,000 bond.
