22-year-old Spring Arbor Village man jailed in golf cart DUI arrest

A 22-year-old Spring Arbor Village man is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a weekend arrest in The Villages.

A Lady Lake police officer had been flagged down by a motorist at  7:15 p.m. Saturday. The motorist told the police officer a golf cart had nearly struck his vehicle, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Police located Samuel Thomas Sullivan of 1206 Bower Lane, but when Sullivan was approached, he got out of the golf cart and began walking away, throwing the key on the ground, the arrest report indicated.

He failed field sobriety exercises. He provided there breath samples that registered .187, .160 and .185 blood alcohol content.

He later told a police officer he had consumed “two beers” at Gator’s Dockside.

He was booked on a charge of driving under the influence at the Lake County Jail. He was released after posting $1,000 bond.
