A 24-year-old Ocala man was killed after his Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a guardrail and then three trees early Sunday morning in Marion County.
Randall Smith had been traveling southbound at 4:45 a.m. on Interstate 75 south of County Road 318 when his vehicle traveled into the median and collided with the steel guardrail, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol. He over-corrected to the right and his vehicle veered across all three southbound lanes before leaving the roadway and colliding with the trees.
He was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
