24-year-old Ocala motorcyclist dies after collision with mini-van

A 24-year-old Ocala man died after his motorcycle collided with a mini-van Thursday night in Ocala.

Nathan Rouse-Hecken was pronounced dead at Ocala Regional Medical Center as a result of the accident which occurred at 9:51 p.m., according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Rouse-Hecken had been traveling westbound on NE 35th Street approaching the intersection of County Road 200A when his motorcycle collided with a 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by 30-year-old Keysha McPheters of Ocala.

Multiple witnesses said the motorcycle had failed to stop at a red traffic signal, the report indicated.

McPheters and a passenger, 31-year-old Jesse McPheters, escaped injury.

Rouse-Hecken had been wearing a helmet, the report noted.
