26-year-old Deland man dies after being struck by SUV

A 26-year-old Deland man died after he was struck by a SUV Sunday night in Volusia County.

Justin Monkhouse was walking across U.S. 92 when he stepped into the path of a 1998 Ford SUV driven by Anthony Young, 58, of Port Orange, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

Monkhouse was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the Medical Examiner’s office.
