26-year-old in golf cart arrested in Villages on drunk driving charge

A 26-year-old from Maryland was arrested Wednesday on a charge of driving under the influence in a golf cart.

Timothy Brian Harper of Hagerstown, Md. was arrested after he was spotted in a golf cart at 2:50 a.m. on Morse Boulevard at Madero Drive, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The report indicated Harper failed field sobriety tests administered by the deputy.

A breath sample indicated a breath alcohol level of .205, the report indicated.

Harper was taken to the Sumter County Detention Center where bond was set at $500.
