28-year-old woman held in connection with Summerfield stabbing

A 28-year-old woman was booked in the Marion County Jail  early Thursday morning after a reported stabbing in Summerfield.

Multiple units from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2800 block of SE 179th Place in Summerfield in reference to the attack.

Upon arrival the victim was located with a stab wound to his chest and a laceration on his arm, according to a spokesman with the sheriff’s office.

Prior to being transported to the hospital, he told deputies he had been stabbed by Laquese Hamilton. A deputy located Hamilton driving on SE 174th Place and conducted a traffic stop.

She claimed to have no knowledge of how the victim was stabbed even though there was blood on the inside of the driver’s door, the dashboard, the seat, and her hands, according to MCSO.

She is facing a charge of domestic aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Bond is set at $10,000.
