A 29-year-old resident of The Villages was arrested by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies on a Lake County warrant charging him with violating his probation for failing to pay fines and court costs.

Francis Joseph Lavin of 416 Tarrson Blvd. was arrested Sunday and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.

He had been sentenced earlier this summer to probation on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing.

Lavin was arrested in June when he rode as a passenger in a golf cart to the Circle K service station on the Historic Side of The Villages. He had been trespassed from the location after he was arrested there on April 30. (You can read more about that arrest at this link http://villages-news.com/29-year-old-villages-resident-arrested-at-historic-side-service-station/)

On June 22 in Lake County Court, he entered a plea of no contest to both the disorderly intoxication and trespass-after-warning charges. He was sentenced to one day in jail with credit for time served, six months probation, ordered to not consume alcohol during his probation period and assessed fines and court costs of $1,000. He was also ordered to stay away from the Circle K station.

However, he did not begin making payments toward the judgement and a warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday.
