29-year-old woman with special needs killed in accident in Marion County

A 29-year-old Ocala woman with special needs died as a result of injuries suffered in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on State Road 464 in Marion County.

Heather Lynn Baker was pronounced dead at Ocala Regional Medical Center as a result of the accident which occurred at 8:31 a.m., according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

She had been a passenger in a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Cherestal Natanael of Boca Raton, who was critically injured. Two additional passengers, 32-year-old Courtney McKay and 45-year-old Terry Jackson were also critically injured. Two other passengers, 20-year-old Fredrika Douglas and 42-year-old Cederick Smith, suffered minor injuries. All were taken to ORMC.

Their vehicle overturned in the crash, the FHP report indicated.

A 2014 Honda Odyssey driven by 79-year-old Virginia Bates of Ocala and a 1992 GMC Sierra driven by 17-year-old Adam Howe of Ocala were also involved in the collision. They escaped without injury.
