32-year-old man charged with DUI Manslaughter in death of 88-year-old

A 32-year-old man has been arrested by Florida Highway Patrol investigators on a warrant charging him with DUI manslaughter as the result of an Oct. 29 accident on Interstate 75 in Sumter County.

Mitchell Lee Kinsman of Floral City has been charged in the accident that claimed the life of 88-year-old Kibbie Rewis of Highland City who who had been a passenger in a Chevy Trailblazer driven by his son, 62-year-old Harry Rewis, also of Highland City.

The elder Rewis died at Citrus Memorial Hospital as a result of injuries suffered in the accident

Kinsman is also facing charges of DUI Serious Injury, DUI Property Damage, and Driving While License Suspended.

Kinsman was arrested Friday and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond has been set at $53,000.
