A 35-year-old resident of The Villages was at the wheel of a vehicle involved in a fatal crash Sunday night in Leesburg.
Thomas Thole was traveling south at 8:30 p.m. Sunday on U.S. Hwy. 441 near North Lake Avenue when his 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee struck a pedestrian, 39-year-old Jeffery Hosea of Leesburg, who had been crossing the highway in that area, according to the Leesburg Police Department.
Hosea was transported to Leesburg Regional Medical Center by Lake EMS and later died from his injuries.
