A 41-year-old man who lives in the Whitney Villas is facing a charge of misdemeanor battery after he allegedly struck a woman in the face, causing her to fall.

Daniel Jonathan Jackson, who lives on Tambourine Terrace, was arguing with the woman at the villa when he allegedly began to shove her with open hands to the shoulders, causing her to fall down onto the bedroom floor, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. The woman said she attempted to stand up and leave the room, but Jackson stood in the doorway yelling and calling her vulgar names. She said he then struck her in the right area of her face by the eye with the open palm of his hand.

Jackson was arrested Friday afternoon at his home in the Whitney Villas.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $1,000 bond.
