50-year-old woman in BMW strikes, fatally injures 6-year-old on bicycle

A 50-year-old woman driving a BMW struck and fatally injured a 6-year-old boy on a bicycle on the afternoon of New Year’s Day in Orange County.

Soraya Youngblood of Apopka had been at the wheel of a 2007 BMW at 3:30 p.m. in a driveway when her vehicle struck the child on the bicycle, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol. The child was transported to Florida Hospital in Apopka where he later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
