53-year-old man killed in accident on U.S. 301 in Marion County

A 53-year-old Maryland man was killed in an accident at 10:09 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 301 north of County Road 42 in Marion County.

Kirk Williams of California, Md. was a passenger in a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Nicholas Williams of Leonardtown, Md. which had been traveling north on U.S. 301 going over a small hill when his vehicle collided with a 2007 Chrysler Town and Country driven by 28-year-old Mary Rivera of Gainesville.

Kirk Williams was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Nicholas Williams suffered minor injuries and was treated at ORMC.

Rivera and a passenger in her car, 20-year-old Aveis Hayes also of Gainesville, both suffered minor injuries and also were transported to ORMC.
