A 71-year-old Village of Lynnhaven woman was jailed without bond following an altercation Sunday night at her home on Swainwood Court.

Patricia M. Pratt is facing a charge of simple battery after she allegedly slapped a woman across the face and punched her in the shoulder, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The woman, who is Pratt’s husband’s stepdaughter, said the incident began because Pratt was intoxicated, the arrest report indicated.

The victim had bruising consistent with her explanation of events.
