George L. Knisely

George L Knisely, 88, of Summerfield, Florida, passed away February 6, 2016 at The Brandley Hospice House, Summerfield, FL. He was the husband of Ruth Knisely for 65 years.

He was born in Lorain, Ohio, a son of the late George and Mildred Knisely. George was a Veteran of the US Navy serving during World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Summerfield, FL. He was an author and inventor. He loved to travel, going on cruises. Prior to his retirement he worked at Thew Shovel and Khoring in Lorain, OH and was the owner of The Gas Light Restaurant, Norwalk, OH. George retired in 1991 and moved to Summerfield, FL.

George will be deeply missed by his wife, Ruth and sons: Gary Knisely and his wife Sandy, Randy Knisely and daughter, Debbie Jones all of Summerfield, FL. He is the grandfather of Lee Ann Chopin and has 3 great granddaughters, Kaitlin, Alexis and Alyssa. He was preceded in death by his brothers; James and Franklyn Knisely and sister Amelia Moldovan.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 3 – 6 p.m. at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL. The Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 10 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Summerfield, FL, followed by interment in the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
