85-year-old Villager ticketed after two-car collision on County Road 466

An 85-year-old Villager was ticketed after a two-vehicle collision which tied up eastbound traffic Wednesday afternoon on County Road 466 not far from the intersection with Rolling Acres Road.

Donald Lee Hickey of the Village of Country Club Hills had been turning into a business in the 800 block of County Road 466 at 2:15 p.m. when he turned into the path of a 2014 Hyundai Tucson driven by 62-year-old Emily Carley French of Summerfield, according to an accident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

Vehicles had been stopped in traffic and Hickey crossed in between traffic that was stopped in the left lane but was not able to see the traffic in the right lane.

He was ticketed on a charge of failure to yield.

Both drivers were evaluated by Lake EMS but appeared to have avoided serious injury.
