90-year-old man reports fraudulent transaction on his credit card at Wal-Mart

A 90-year-old man reported a fraudulent transaction had occurred on his credit card Monday morning at Wal-Mart in Summerfield.

The man received a text message from his bank that his credit card had been used at the store. The man went to the store where an asset protection associate verified that someone had used the credit card in the self-checkout lane and had purchased $150 in money cards, according to an incident report from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

The 90-year-old indicated he had been in possession of his credit card the entire time.

what i find strange is buying “money cards” in the self check out…i am not a walmart shopper, but i do buy walmart cards for my sisters as gifts, and unless they have changed their policy since early december, you can’t make that purchase in a self check out lane
