A thank you to the community

To the Editor:

Dollars for Scholars would like to extend a simple but sincere THANK YOU to the cast, sponsors and community audience that attended, participated and supported the November 14th Savannah Center production of Starry – Starry “6” – A Musical Odyssey. The generosity of our cast in donating their time, talent and energy in support of local high school students in need of financial aid to advance their educational opportunities is reflective of their character and the generosity they bring to our community and our stage. To our sponsors whose behind the scenes support is not done for notoriety or expectation of financial return, YOU are special people who contribute more then your business to our community. You share with our young people the opportunity to achieve some of the success that you currently enjoy. To our audiences, many people of our community talk about the spirit and character that retirees demonstrate in their daily activities. Your support of the various Dollars for Scholars fund raising activities in the last 8 years has allowed us to provide financial assistants to over 100 local high school students wishing to pursue an advanced education. As a long time Dollars for Scholars volunteer and producer of the Starry – Starry Musical Variety programs for these past 6 years, the smiles that appear on the faces of the young people whose names are called during their high school academic recognition days ceremonies should be shared with everyone whose support has brought the opportunity for educational advancement to these scholarship recipients. While THANK YOU is never enough, it is all that we have to offer and it is done so with sincerity and pleasure.
