Meta Minton, President, Managing Editor
Meta Minton has been in media for more than 30 years. She served as editor of the Midland Reporter-Telegram from 1998 to 2003 when hometown boy George W. Bush moved from the Texas governor’s mansion to the White House. She led a team from Midland which covered Bush’s first inauguration in Washington D.C. While editor at The Southern Illinoisan from 2003 to 2005, many times she interviewed a little known fellow by the name of Barack Obama who also later would move onto the White House. She worked as a managing editor at The Villages Daily Sun from 2007-2013 before founding www.villages-news.com earlier this year.

Marv Balousek, Journalist
Veteran journalist Marv Balousek has joined Villages-News.com. Balousek worked 28 years as a reporter at the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, where he covered business, local government, courts and crime. Before that, he worked at daily and weekly newspapers in Illinois. He also has written and published 10 books on Wisconsin subjects. He retired in 2009 and moved to The Villages full-time in 2012.
Gabe Mirkin, M.D., Medical Columnist
A practicing physician for more than 40 years and a radio talk show host for 25 years, Dr. Mirkin is a graduate of Harvard University and Baylor University College of Medicine. He is a rare breed of physician in that he is board-certified in four specialties: Sports Medicine, Allergy and Immunology, Pediatrics and Pediatric Immunology. He has run more than 40 marathons.

The “Z-Man” has been the Producer Director and Emcee of the Dollars for Scholars Savannah productions of The Starry- Starry musical variety series for the past four years. He has been married to his movie partner, Nancy the Magnificent, for 52 years and watched the dramatic expansion of The Villages Theater chain in the 11 years they have been Villagers.
