Motorcyclist suffers broken leg in accident at U.S. 301 and CR472

A 21-year-old motorcyclist suffered a broken leg in a crash at about 11 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 301 at County Road 472.

Cody Williams of Wildwood had been on the motorcycle and heading south on U.S. 301. He was cut off by an automobile that had been traveling in the opposite direction and was attempting to make a turn.

Williams was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

Wildwood officials have long wanted a stoplight at that intersection, but have been repeatedly denied by the Department of Transportation. You can read more about that HERE.
