Anselmo B. Marquez, 74, of The Villages, FL passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014. He was born in Des Moines, NM and moved to The Villages in 2006 from Kendall, FL. He was Catholic by faith and a member of St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake. He was a member of the Retired FBI Agents Association, U.S. Power & Sail Squadron, a U.S. Coast Guard certified sea captain, an FAA certified aircraft pilot, a mathematician, genealogist, historian, and world traveler. He also was a member of the Marquez Heritage Society, Hispanic Society of New Mexico, and New Mexico Historical Society. Mr. Marquez enjoyed hiking, fossil collecting, reading, classical music and special times with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife Mary Marquez, The Villages; 3 Sons: Alan Garcia, Albuquerque, NM; Michael Garcia, Albuquerque, NM; and John Marquez, Belleview, FL; 3 Daughters: Yvonne Moore, Orlando, FL; Debbie Aubrey, Tampa, FL; and Diane Garcia, Alamagordo, NM; 15 Grandchildren; 11 Great Grandchildren: 4 Brothers: Norbert Marquez, Clayton, NM; Joe Marquez, Des Moines, NM; John Marquez, Dumas, TX and Ben Marquez, Dalhart, TX; 1 Sister Mary Martinez, Beaver, OK. A visitation will be held at the Lady Lake Chapel of Beyers Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Timothy Catholic Church on Friday, August 29, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans, 1203 Granada Court, Lady Lake, FL 32159.
