THE VILLAGES – Anthony Latella, Jr., 75, of The Villages, FL, passed from this life Sunday, July 28, 2013. Born in New Haven, CT, he was the son of the late Anthony and Katherine (Carrano) Latella. Anthony attended Quinnipiac University and was a retired executive in the transportation industry. He held several executive management positions with Consolidated Freightways, National Car Rental, Lend Lease Truck Division, and Sedona Group. He was owner of Shoreline International, Idealease & Nissan Trucks in Milford, CT. 

He was designated “Man of the Year” by the American Cancer Society and Lukemia & Lymphoma Society. He was a member of the New Haven Traffic Association, American Trucking Association, TRLA (Truck Rental & Leasing Association), Knights of Columbus, Lauralton Hall Fathers Association, and President of Surf Village Recreation Corporation.
He traveled the continental USA on both business and pleasure, visiting nearly every state.
He loved to tell stories of his daughter, who was “the joy of his life.”`
He lived most of his life in Milford, CT and moved to The Villages in 2009. He loved listening to the big band sound, most especially Frank Sinatra. He enjoyed swimming which he did daily and found meeting people his greatest pastime. He was a New York Yankees fan through and through and was a member of the New York Yankees Club in The Villages. His greatest pride and joy was his daughter Lisa. Tony leaves his daughter Lisa Schaefer, her husband Nolan and granddaughter, Isabella all of Milford, CT, his best friend, Faoud Hasson of Guilford, CT, and many loving cousins and friends.
