The Rohan Recreation Center will be celebrating its one-year anniversary on Sunday.
From 4 to 7 p.m. various car clubs in The Villages will be a big part of the celebration. More than 100 cars will be on display during the event.
Village of Liberty Park resident Alan Stone, event coordinator for the Villages Antique Auto Club, is spearheading the event. So far there are up to seven clubs participating. Stone says it is going to be a great event with so many cars participating.
A 1966 Riley, a 1963 Porsche, a 1967 MGB, a 1958 Chevy Impala and a 1967 Austin Mini are some of the confirmed highlights of the show.
“Stone is always getting us into something,” said George Burke, president of the Village Vettes Corvette Club. “We really do enjoy these events. We just show up with a couple of chairs and a cooler and pop the hood. It is a relaxing way to meet other Villagers.”
So far on deck to participate along with these two clubs are the Villages Vintage Car Club, the Miata Club, The Villages Porsche Club, the Mini-Cooper Club, The Villages BMW Club and the Mustang Club.
