A pair of 19-year-olds from Arkansas are due in Lake County Court next month to answer to a charge that they allegedly tried to steal underwear from Belk in The Villages.

Logan Scott Peoples and Michael James Stout, both of Jonesboro, Ark., were observed on video surveillance May 22 opening a package of men’s briefs and then concealing the briefs in the front of their shorts, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The pair then went to the checkout at the store in the La Plaza Grande shopping center where they paid for a pair of socks and then attempted to leave the store, the arrest report indicated.

They were detained by the store’s loss prevention officer and then arrested by Lady Lake police. They were booked at the Lake County Jail where each later posted $500 bond and was released.

They are due in Lake County Court on June 10.
