Arnold Robert Curtiss “Arnie” of The Villages, Florida passed away peacefully from leukemia on December 20, 2016. He was born February 17, 1946 in Detroit Michigan to Kenneth and Mary Curtiss. Arnie is survived by his wife, Carol; his brothers, Ralph and Charles; and many nieces and nephews. Forty eight years ago Arnie married the love of his life, Carol and together they moved to the West Coast, back to the Midwest and eventually landing in Indianapolis for the past 24 years. In 2009 they bought a home in The Villages, Florida for the winter months. Arnie enjoyed working for Allison Transmission, a division of General Motors for over 40 years. He retired from his career as Manager of Sales and Service in July 2007. Arnie had an easy going personality and developed many friends across the country through work and the places where he lived. Arnie was a friend to everyone he met. Over the years Arnie enjoyed boating, golfing, playing cards and dining out groups in both Indianapolis and The Villages.
Visiting hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on December 26, 2016 with a service immediately after at Beyers Funeral Home located at 134 N. Hwy. 27/441, Lady Lakes, Florida 32159. A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation and the American Cancer Society of Florida would be appreciated for their great work.
