Banned Villager arrested on warrant after showing up at entertainment office

A 79-year-old Villager banned from all Villages’ facilities was arrested on a warrant Wednesday morning after an unwanted appearance at The Villages Entertainment Department office.

Richard Hendricks was taken into custody at the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office Annex at Morse Boulevard and County Road 466. Hendricks, already arrested four times this year in Lake County on trespassing charges, faces his first trespassing charge in Sumter County.

Earlier this month, Hendricks filed a small claims case against the head of The Villages Entertainment Department, Brian Russo. You can read more about that HERE. It is unclear as to why Hendricks’ turned up on the night of Aug. 13 at the entertainment office on Canal Street in Lake Sumter Landing.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000.
