Barbara Ann Carr, 79, The Villages, FL,  passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015 after a long illness. Barbara moved here from Braintree, Massachusetts in 2001. She was an active member of The Patriots Club and enjoyed weekly Trivia Competitions. She also enjoyed playing golf, knitting, crochet and spending time with the Crazy Eights. Barbara had a very outgoing personality and it was evident she cared about the people she loved. Family to Barbara was everything; they gave her the greatest joy in her life. She is survived by her loving husband of over 59 years, David Carr; two sons, Richard Carr (Susan), Ashburn, Virginia, David L. Carr (Julie), Portland, Oregon and four grandchildren, Alyssa, Lindsay, P J and Benjamin Carr. A gathering to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Home, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, Florida. An interment service will be held later in the year in Brookline, Massachusetts. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
