Barbara W. Newman

Barbara W. Newman, 79, of Fruitland Park, FL, passed away on May 3, 2017 at the Villages Hospice House. She was born in 1937 in Irwinville, GA to her parents Henry and Barbara Morgan.

She was an avid cook for both her family functions as well as church events. She was nicknamed the “Queen of Grits”. Barbara was active with the church and was a Stephen Minister as well as a PEO. She was a dedicated wife and mother.

She is survived by daughter, Cindy Anderson; son, Tommy Ward; son, Branan Ward; step daughter, Toni Huff; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Newman.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, May 5th at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Leesburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Leesburg.
