The Resident Parade Committee staged its second parade in two weeks with Tuesday’s wildly successful German parade.
Plenty of beer steins were raised during the parade which featured Villages talent ranging from the Villages High School Band to the Dynamic Dog Club. Watch video of the parade below:
The Villages Twirlers and Drum Corps played a starring role with the twirlers donning traditional German dress.
Jackie Campbell of the Resident Parade Committee was thrilled with the level of talent on display in the parade and how much fun everyone had.
“Just seeing the smiles on their faces makes it all worthwhile,” Campbell said.
Lady Lake Mayor Ruth Kussard once again led off the parade, smiling and waving from the Lady Lake Police Department golf cart.
Deutscher Club and German parade organizer Kirk Freundt was having a ball as he marched in the parade in traditional German dress.
As always, decked-out golf carts were a huge hit with the parade audience who lined Spanish Springs Town Square to take in the event.
Plenty of groups were represented including Shriners Club members riding motorized coolers, Dragon Boaters marching with paddles and sporting medals, and groups like the Polka Lovers offering smiles and festive music.
