Bicyclist transported to Villages Regional Hospital after collision with vehicle in roundabout

A bicyclist was transported by ambulance to The Villages Regional Hospital after a collision with an automobile in a roundabout Monday morning.

The accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. Monday morning in the roundabout near Savannah Center.

The bicyclist, who had been riding in a group with other bicyclists, was hit when the driver of the vehicle tried to make a right turn out of the roundabout, according to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The bicyclist complained of leg pain and lower back pain and was transported to TVRH.
